LCLD invites 1st year students who are women, racially diverse and/or LGBT to attend an information session about their 1L Success in Law School Mentor Program, where students are paired with attorneys here in Pittsburgh. Attorneys Jackie Celender and Dotun Obadina, attorneys at K&L Gates, will talk with students about the LCLD Mentor Program which begins later this fall. This program will be held on Tuesday, September 30, from 12:00-1:00 pm in Room 208.
Duquesne Law students participated in this program last year and thoroughly enjoyed the individual mentor match and other networking opportunities it provided them. This is a great way to meet attorneys – some of whom are Duquesne Law alumni – who are interested in meeting and mentoring diverse 1st year law students. If you’re unsure about what type of questions to ask your mentor or what to do at a networking event, contact Maria Comas (firstname.lastname@example.org) for some suggestions for either situation.Registration for the mentor program will begin in October, and mentors are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Additional information.Lunch provided. RSVP appreciated, but not required, via DuqLawConnect – Events tab or via email at email@example.com. (If you misplaced your DuqLawConnect log-in information, please let me know, and I will re-issue it to you.)
