Networking 101 – A Panel Discussion

Co-sponsored with the Duquesne Law Alumni Association (DLAA)
Wednesday, February 11, 5:00-6:00 p.m., Room 208

*Evening students are always welcome to attend as much of the program as your schedule permits.*

Do you cringe when you hear the word “networking”?
Do you know that roughly 80% of jobs are found through some type of networking connection?

Plan on attending this program where you will learn why networking – or making professional connections – is so important to lawyers. Throughout the job search process and after you’re hired as an attorney, this will be an essential skill to have.

Panelists will discuss the various ways to network – from a large reception to a one-on-one meeting, how to appropriately follow-up with someone you meet and more.

Join these panelists for an insightful discussion:
Dodi Walker Gross (L’82), Reed Smith LLP
P. Brennan Hart (L’73), Pietragallo Gordon Alfano Bosick & Raspanti LLP
Jessica M. Jurasko (L’04), Jackson Kelly PLLC
Scott T. Redman (L’82), Law Office of Scott T. Redman

Refreshments provided by the DLAA. The DLAA will raffle a gift card to students in attendance.

As a follow-up to this program, a speed networking event will be held on March 18 where students will have a chance to put these tips to use and practice their networking skills. Students attending the February 11th program will have registration preference for the speed networking event where registration will be limited and required. Refreshments will be provided.

Please RSVP via DuqLawConnect – Events tab.
