About The Tri-Rivers Heritage Foundation
The Tri-Rivers Heritage Foundation is a charitable organization founded in 2006 by seven students and a faculty member of the University of Pittsburgh. The Foundation’s goal is to provide children within the Pittsburgh community the resources necessary to build a strong foundation for future success.  They will be hosting their annual charity golf outing this year at Allegheny Country Club in Sewickley, Pennsylvania on September 30, 2016.

The Tri-Rivers Heritage Foundation is really a dual-purpose charity.  The first purpose of the charity is that all proceeds from the outing are donated to Sarah Heinz House, a charter member of the Boys & Girls Club of America located in the North Side of Pittsburgh.  Sarah Heinz House is devoted to helping children in and around Pittsburgh by providing after school programs and other educational, artistic, recreational and community service programs. The second purpose of the outing is to create networking opportunities for students seeking employment.  This is accomplished by pairing two company or firm representatives with two finance, accounting, or law students so the four can network during the round of golf.  It really creates a great opportunity for the students and corporate/firm representatives to get to know each other.  Also, the students are all at the top of their classes at Pitt, Carnegie Mellon, and Duquesne.  In fact, the Foundation has been successful in getting a number of students jobs in the past and even helped more students get interviews and internships with the companies/firms that come to this event.

A number of large companies and firms have participated in the golf outing in the past, such as Dick’s Sporting Goods, PNC Bank, Coca-Cola, Morgan Stanley, Highmark Inc., Northwestern Mutual, UBS, UPS, Ernst & Young, Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney, the University of Pittsburgh, Federated Investors, Alpern Rosenthal, Eden Hall Foundation, First National Bank, First Commonwealth Bank, C.S. McKee, PLS Logistics Services, PJ Dick Trumbull, American Eagle Outfitters, and Leech Tishman Fuscaldo & Lampl.

Students are encouraged to sign-up for events happening this fall and spring and learn about the many volunteer roles open to them.

So stop by the Student Lounge to meet the group representatives.  Students who participate in Get Involved Day will be entered into a drawing to win raffle prizes.

Representatives from the different groups will leave materials in the Student Lounge for anyone who is not able to meet during these times.
